| Assurant Solutions | SRA | Below are the detail of the project and what I plan to include in my discussion. This project will involve data analytics, programming(VBA), and advanced excel report. We have many different customers and programs at Assurant, as I mention T-Mobile is our biggest. We have the following 4 programs for T-Mobile Candidate Devices: T-Mobile AU/JUMP Program – The AU (Anytime Upgrade)/JUMP program is the one you see advertised on TV all the time. Customers enter an agreement and pay a monthly fee so they can sell their existing phone for an upgrade at any time. The phone then comes to our facility to be refurbished. T-Mobile DRP Program – The DRP (Device Recovery Program) come into play when a customer who is not currently enrolled in the JUMP program or who has another carrier (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon) want to enroll in the JUMP program. T-Mobile then purchases their phone from them and sends them to us to be refurbished or liquidated. T-Mobile MHP/PHP Insurance Program – The MHP/PHP (Mobile Handset Protection/Premium Handset protection) Insurance program is your typical insurance program. Customers make a claim and send their device in to be refurbished or replaced depending on the damage done. T-Mobile Green Program – The Green Program is for customer who want to recycle old devices. T-Mobile provides recycling containers at their stores so customers can dispose of phones properly without worrying about their person information being stolen. We have raw data inventory reports for each of these programs that are automatically generated each morning (see attached RPT_AU_STATUS_REPORT_YTD 2018_01_25). Currently our planning team is taking this raw data and creating reports that help our management team track inventory and dollar amounts for each of these programs every morning, the entire process takes around and hour each day (see attached JUMP Reports 01-25-2018). I recorded my screen using powerpoint as I complete one of the four reports so you can see what goes into creating the report. I chose the JUMP report because it is a little smaller then other and the data files are not as large, it also is a little faster to create. My task for this project is to code VBA Macros to run these reports so they are available earlier in the morning and save time for our planning team. Since each raw data report is a little different I will essentially need to do this for all four reports. I plan to make the modules within the macro adaptable so that if/when other programs come along we can easily replicate similar report macros for the new programs. VBA is new language to me so much of what I will be doing will be learning on the fly. When this project concludes our planning team will be able to run one macro that will create all four reports in just a small fraction of the normal time it takes to create them. |

Another aspect to my internship is understanding the systems that we are implementing more so our supervisor is requiring us to get salesforce certified. So as apart of my hours for this internship I will be doing studying for this exam.
