| Sensus, a Xylem Brand | DATSC | The company gave me an overview that I will be helping them to do a "data dump" because they are moving database systems within the next year and need a Data Cleansing Intern to help sort through and clean the important data without having to dump into the new database with years worth of unnecessary data. I will need to validate data through their database, but I will not be modifying any of the data. The database can be queried through SQL, which I learned how to use in IST 210. In IST 210 I actually created my own database and queried it through SQL and it will most likely be a similar system using SQL. I am also learning about relational models and entity relation models along with working with different database systems in DS 220 (along with IST 210 last semester) which the interviewer specifically mentioned will be greatly beneficial for the intern duties. | Energy & Utilities | Summer 2020 |
