| Toyota Material Handling | IST | ISDEV | I will be an intern working with the Project Management Office (PMO) and my job this summer will be to work on a project to design and develop a department wide dashboard for PMO to use to manage various prototypes in development. Another use of the PMO dashboard will be to provide an overview of project metrics and progress to company executives during weekly prototype update meetings. As part of the project I will also develop a new system for data visualization that will allow for the already existing reporting methods to be converted into visualized data that can be included in the dashboard. As part of the PMO I will have to coordinate with various other departments to gain access to the data that I will be using and analyzing in my project. In particular to aspects the dashboard project will focus on is developing a system to track cost accounting metrics of each prototype. Another large part of the project is to develop a system to visualize data of “Parts Tracking” in order to monitor the efficiency of different components and parts used to manufacture the prototype. Throughout the project I will extensively use Microsoft Excel for all of the data from each of the departments and Microsoft Power BI to create the reports and dashboard. I will also have the responsibility of coordinating meetings with my own department and other departments in order to organize and plan the different tasks I need to take in order to finish my project.
