We have defined the Intern roles and responsibilities on the project with much more depth. The Intern is working with an external consulting service to map out our company’s requirements for achieving HIPAA compliance, identifying necessary changes in policies and procedures, and directing system level implementation of security measures and workflow updates. Cumulus Global has no legal or regulatory requirement to become HIPAA compliant. The effort intends to enhance our contractual and service relationships with medical and insurance industry clients, and to provide the company with a competitive advantage in our markets. HIPAA compliance creates a base from which we can expand our marketing and differentiate our firm from others service healthcare and insurance clients.
