| Cox Automotive | Senior Software Engineer | IST | ITINT | Conversion to Github Actions: This has been my baby for over well over a year, but really started active development in March. Currently our software delivery systems all are using Amazons tooling (AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline) for handling our software releases. However, due to some dissatisfaction with our current processes, we are migrating to Github Actions. As part of this conversion, I have been the lead and mainly sole developer designing and implementing the DevOps platform for my release train. Chaos Engineering: In an effort to make our game days (simulated failures to test a system and team readiness) more interesting, I plan on introducing the use of and AWS tool called the Fault Injection Simulator. Our current process has each team break into two groups of attackers and defenders. The attacker's job is to break something, simulating a potential failure scenario, and the defender's job is to address and resolve it. My plan is to leverage the FIS to take over the role of the attacking team to get the entire allowing for everyone to get involved with the resolution. This coupled with our performance automation should allow us to more closely model the issues we would see in production. Intelligent Promotions: My release train is currently working on a set of enhancements for our Intelligent Promotions product (https://cloud.e.vauto.com/IntelligentPromotion). I will continue to be involved with the design and development of both the front and backend portions of the application.
